Environmental adaptation of the new Iranian parliament ( 1999 )

The new parliament building was constructed in a pyramid shape, in the middle of two other tall & low rectangular buildings ( drws. 5/6/7 ). The pyramid was built with reinforced concrete, to be covered with glass . Our firm studied the environmental impact of the glass cover ( drws. 3/5 ) , and proposed the pyramid to be covered with stone . We also studied landscape design around the 3 diff. shapes in order to provide environmentally, a suitable area around them , and also to integrate the diff. Forms for creating an urban elevation. Introducing colonnades , ponds and green spaces were the new added elements to achieve this purpose .
